Current NewsFebruary 10, 2017                            Greetings, beloved congregation! I wanted to send a quick note to let you know that I have returned from maternity leave and am available. Thank you for a wonderful 8 weeks away to celebrate the birth of my beautiful baby girl: Sophia Neoma Engel! She was born Friday, December 16, 2017 at 8:39 PM. It has been an absolute joy getting to know her and spend time with her over the past 8 weeks. I look forward to sharing my bundle of joy with you during my remaining months with you all. Looking forward, we are heading into another "high holy" time of the year: Lent, Easter, and then Pentecost. But first, a party: Fat Tuesday on February 28th! We always have a pancake dinner fundraiser on that night, so be sure to invite your friends and family! On Ash Wednesday, we will have a worship service to mark the beginning of Lent and to receive the marking of the ashes on our foreheads or hands. Lent is a humbling journey inward that prepares us for disciple actions in the world and marking ourselves with ashes is a way to that we commit to this journey and the Jesus Way. During Lent, we will be reading Renegade Gospel: The Rebel Jesus by Mike Slaughter and meeting on Wednesday nights (starting Ash Wednesday), 6:30-8PM to discuss the book after 5:30 PM Taize-style worship services.  So, mark your calendars! We have a lot to look forward to before we part ways! When you have a chance, drop me an e-mail or give me a call or text to let me know how you are. I care so deeply and pray for each and every one of you.                                                                     Many blessings,                                                                 Rev.
