Laurie Clough

Music Director

Laurie Clough has been the Music Director since 2001. She grew up in Juneau, and began playing organ at church when she was 16.  She graduated from Whitman College with a BA in Music Education, with the organ being her principle instrument.  She was a music teacher with the Juneau School District for over 25 years, teaching elementary general music, orchestra, and middle school orchestra, choir, and drama.

Music at Douglas is a blend of traditional, contemporary, folk, and meditative musical traditions, with the organ being used as well as, piano, harp, and occasionally an ensemble featuring guitar, mandolin, accordion, harmonica, and string bass.

The Douglas Choir is open to all singers regardless of background or ability.  The choir practices every Sunday from 12:30-1 pm, and performs once monthly, usually on the 3rd Sunday.  Ensembles, solos, and guest musician also participate in the music program at Douglas and bring many different styles and expressions of music to our worship services.
